Landmark project sparks livelihood, housing for Region IV

Heightened activities in Calapan City’s residential-commercial sector are expected to accelerate Oriental Mindoro’s growth as Xevera Neo Calapan gears up construction for Phase 1.

Xevera Neo Calapan, one of the city’s most awaited multi-billion property developments, aims to provide housing and livelihood opportunities to locals and nearby provinces resulting from a favorable multiplier effect, said Cong. Rodolfo G. Valencia, chairman of Oriental Mindoro Investments (ORMINVEST) Foundation.

A project of owner-developer Xevera Neo Calapan Development Corporation of Globe Asiatique Realty Holdings Corporation, the property is a 32-hectare complete community, primed to become an important center for tourists, businessmen and visiting dignitaries. It will combine residential, commercial, recreational, educational, and government centers with a techno park to boot.

According to Oriental Mindoro Governor Arnan C. Panaligan during the groundbreaking and blessing rites, the project will set off a domino effect in business, sparking developments on allied industries like construction, cement, paint, architecture, engineering, and furniture, among others.

Calapan City Mayor Salvador C. Leachon further stressed that having the regional government center particularly in Xevera Neo Calapan is a welcome development as this will invite more businesses to open shop in the area and rev up the city’s cash flow.

With the jobs and livelihood opportunities generated thru a major project like Xevera Neo Calapan, Oriental Mindoro is set to be the next bastion of progress, transforming the provincial capital into a highly urbanized and modern city, Leachon said.

In his keynote address, Globe Asiatique president and chairman Delfin S. Lee said that Oriental Mindoro is the only province he has seen with united local and provincial leaders in their vision for socio-economic development.

Second District Congressman Alfonso V. Umali added that these benefits will spill over to the rest of Region IV composed of CALABARZON and MIMAROPA, which have both spurred the region to attain greater economic advancement.

Development of Xevera Neo Calapan is now in full swing, following its recent groundbreaking and blessing rites in Calapan City.

Arroyo Inaugurates New Mabalacat Town Hall

MABALACAT -- President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo led on Thursday the inauguration this town’s new P70-million municipal hall located at the Xevera project of Globe Asiatique in Barangay Tabun here.

The President also witnessed the ceremonial donation and turnover of the municipal hall by Globe Asiatique president Delfin Lee to Mayor Marino “Boking” Morales.

Morales told the President that the two-storey municipal hall is fully-furnished and equipped with various computers and other facilities needed for the operation of a modern municipal hall and government service center.

Morales told the President that the two-storey municipal hall is fully-furnished and equipped with various computers and other facilities needed for the operation of a modern municipal hall and government service center.

The municipal hall is located at the front area of the 62-hectare area of Xevera Mabalacat, which also has 7,000 housing units, a parish church, multi-purpose hall, theme park, large-capacity swimming pool, commercial center, grocery stores, wet market, and a 48-classroom school building, which will offer free education to all Xevera residents.

Among the programs and vision of Arroyo is to provide affordable housing units either through government projects or privately financed corporations.

“The lowering down of the interest rates for housing loans in this administration made it possible for us to undertake this project,” Lee said.

"This is the next Makati north of Metro Manila," Morales said of the total community developed by Globe Asiatique here.

Xevera-Mabalacat, according to Morales, is the second major "budget-friendly" housing project of the Globe Asiatique in Pampanga following the success of its Xevera-Bacolor, where some 4,000 units were sold in record time.

"This is what we need to realize our dream to develop a progressive center north of Mabalacat. Xevera has started it and more will naturally follow," said Morales, who expressed deep gratitude to Lee for his generous contribution to the municipality.
